Position Summary:

A Network Engineer, or Network Systems Engineer, is responsible for creating IT networks for businesses. Their duties include using their IT knowledge to develop company networks, coordinating with company leadership to identify network needs and providing assistance to employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.  Responsible for daily administration of Customer network/server environments. Installs, configures, and maintains system software. Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues and deploys solutions. Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of new applications and equipment. Creates and maintains a disaster recovery, security and backup plan. May assist with evaluating new technologies to optimize network efficiency and performance. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of Customer Endpoints, Network and Server Environments.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains Customer hardware and software.
  • Monitors Customer Environments, to include:
  • Network Infrastructure (Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall, HP, Dell, and others)
  • Server hardware and Operating Systems
  • Security Infrastructure
  • Line of Business Applications
  • Other Customer Technology assets as required
  • Assists in creating and maintaining Monitoring Alert Response Procedures
  • Assists in creating and maintaining Service Desk escalation procedures
  • Responsible for Technical Toolsets, configuration, integration, and automation
  • PSA Tools
  • RMM Tools
  • Azure AD
  • SOC/NOC Tools
  • Security Suites
  • Other technical tools as required
  • Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of Customer’s:
  • Network Infrastructure
  • Server hardware and Operating Systems
  • Security Infrastructure
  • Line of Business Applications
  • Other Customer Technology assets as required
  • Creates, Maintains and Monitors Customer Backup Matrix and Infrastructure
  • Creates and Maintains Customer’s Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans
  • Creates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), to include Standard Build Documentation
  • Responsible for and directs Sales Engineering/Pre-Sales Engineering design
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining Customer Systems Architecture Design and Documentation.
  • Provide Sr. Level mentorship for lower-level Technicians
  • Manage and oversee Project Teams and schedules
  • Continues to improve personal and Technical Team’s knowledge and understanding of Security and Networking best practices and current trends to offer the best solutions and protection to customers.

Essential Job Requirements and Education:

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s in information technology or equivalent experience
  • Salary Commensurate with Experience
  • Previous MSP or MSSP experience preferred
  • Desired Certifications (Not required, but preferred): CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, Security+, CISSP, CCSP
  • Required: Must be able to successfully pass Security Background Check and Drug Testing

  • Lift and carry laptop computer and peripherals, and program or regulatory documents (loose-leaf and/or bound)
